Position Papers for LBIMUN

March 12, 2026

This week was all about getting ready for LBIMUN (Laguna Beach Invitational Model United Nations) on March 28th. All of the committees are for middle schoolers, so a lot of you are excited to be in a committee where you have a real shot at winning.

First, everyone filled out a quick survey with their country and position, so you have a clear idea of what you're working with. Your assignments are also in the announcement.

Then everyone started on their position papers. Your paper should have four sections, in this order:

  1. Background: what the issue is.
  2. UN action and involvement: what the UN has already done about it.
  3. Country policy: what your country thinks and has done.
  4. Solutions: what you want the UN to do next.

If you need help with your paper, just ask.
